Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Cookie Policy is drafted pursuant to Art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Privacy Code), Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and in compliance with the Italian Data Protection Authority's Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools (Decision no. 231 of 10 June 2021) and the latest version of the EDPB Guidelines 03/2022 on consent patterns.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that visited sites store on the user's device (computer, tablet, smartphone) to retain information useful for the site's functioning, statistics or content personalisation. "Tracking tools" also include technologies other than cookies (e.g. localStorage, fingerprinting, pixels) that may potentially identify the user.
2. Data Controller

3. Tracking Tools Used by This Site
This site uses only first-party tools and Google Analytics 4. No advertising cookies, behavioural profiling cookies, social plugins, third-party interactive maps or fingerprinting techniques are present.
3.1 Technical (necessary) tools — no consent required
These are essential for the site to function and fall under the consent exemption in Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code.
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent | localStorage (first party) | This site | Stores the user's choice in the cookie banner (accepted / rejected), so it is not displayed at every visit | Persistent, until manually cleared from the browser, or for at least 6 months (after which the banner may be re-displayed if conditions change) |
| connect.sid / session | Session cookie (where applicable) | This site | Maintaining the session for contact form submission | Session (cleared on browser close) |
3.2 Analytical tools — Google Analytics 4 (consent required)
With the user's explicit consent, given by clicking "Accept all" in the banner, the site activates Google Analytics 4 (property G-26J9ESHWK7) provided by Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd., with the Enhanced Measurement feature enabled. If the user clicks "Reject all" or closes the banner with the X, no Google Analytics script is loaded and no analytical cookie is installed.
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | HTTP cookie (first party, site domain) | Google LLC | Pseudo-anonymous unique identifier used to distinguish users and generate aggregate statistics on site usage | 2 years |
| _ga_26J9ESHWK7 | HTTP cookie (first party) | Google LLC | Maintaining session state for the specific GA4 property | 2 years |
Events automatically collected by Enhanced Measurement
| Event | Description |
|---|---|
| page_view | Each page view on the site |
| scroll | Scroll reaches 90% of the page |
| click | Clicks on links leading to external domains |
| view_search_results | Site internal search |
| video_start / video_progress / video_complete | Interactions with embedded YouTube videos |
| file_download | File downloads (PDF, documents, images, etc.) |
| form_start / form_submit | Form start and submission events |
IP address and extra-EU transfers
Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address of European Union users: the IP is used only in transit to derive the approximate geographic location (country/region/city) and is then immediately discarded. Data is processed in aggregate form and does not allow direct identification of the user. Data may be transferred to Google LLC servers in the United States in compliance with the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (EU Adequacy Decision of 10 July 2023). More info: Google Privacy Policy.
Data retention in GA4
User-level and event-level data is retained by Google for 2 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Aggregate reports remain available indefinitely.
4. The Cookie Banner
On first access to the site a banner is shown allowing the user to freely choose whether to accept or reject analytical cookies. The banner is designed in line with Italian DPA and EDPB principles:
- Buttons of equal visual prominence: "Accept all" and "Reject all" share the same size, colour and graphic weight (no dark patterns).
- Close button "×": located at the top right of the banner; closing equals rejection of all non-necessary cookies.
- No pre-checked options: no consent is preselected.
- No cookie wall: refusing consent does not limit access to the site's content in any way.
- No transfer before consent: without explicit consent, no request is sent to Google and no analytical cookie is installed.
5. Choice Storage and Banner Re-display
The user's choice is stored in the browser localStorage and is not re-displayed at every visit. In compliance with the Italian DPA Guidelines, the banner may be re-displayed to a user who has previously made a choice only if: (a) processing conditions change significantly; (b) it is impossible to know whether a tracking tool is already stored on the device; or (c) at least 6 months have passed since the previous preference.
